I really loved this film. More than Lone Survivor and American Sniper, two recent comparibles. Classically great character-driven action storytelling. Josh Brolin and the entire cast gave top notch performances.
It's really all about the journey on this one. The first hour just flew by as the Hot Shots gain their name. And the second hour builds up to the inevitable sad ending. But Kosinski does a great job of treating the ending with respect and artistry.
