Review of Only Lovers Left Alive (2013) by Anisa W — 12 Jun 2014
As a life-long fan of both Swinton and Hiddlestone, I was a bit worried when I heard that their newest film will have them acting as vampires. The recent vampires movies I've watched before had left me in quite a traumatic situation.
But well, nothing could go wrong with a Jarmusch film and it is indeed a unique and different perspective of being a vampire in this modern era. And the main theme is the love both Swinston's Eve and Hiddleston's Adam had for each other.
When they have immortality, how to keep their love blooming? They answered it with beautiful equations from Einstein, mind-provoking quotes from Shakespeare and one hell of wonderful music collections.
And I was drowned into their world of borderless imagination and dangerous pleasure.
