Review of Only Lovers Left Alive (2013) by Kandace W — 29 Oct 2014
What is immortality? The curse of living secretly through the centuries, holed up in urban wastelands or being a truly great artist producing timeless works that resonate long after its creator is dead and gone? Tom Hiddlestone's reclusive rockstar vampire seems to think its the latter.
This is one of the many interesting ideas this movie kicks around. Despite this and the great dual performances of Hiddlestone and Swinton as ageless but loving pair of vampires, I admire this movie far more than I enjoyed it.
