Review of Only Lovers Left Alive (2013) by Ryan J — 23 Jan 2015
This beautifully shot drama about two long lived lovers is a slow and interesting watch. Hiddleston plays Adam, a famous musician that lives in obscurity, his music lives through his helper, Ian, who distributes it independently.
Swinton is Eve, Adam's well travelled lover. Well acted, sumptuous shots, not too much occurs and it slowly moves along. This is arthouse, this is a Jim Jarmusch spin on the vampire lore. Cool soundtrack and a subtle sense of humour.
