Bloated and arrogant and messy and fussy and trite and not original and not imaginative.

But.

Just.

Incredibly.

Stupid.

I guess this is the kind of explosion of shit that happens once you get too many compliments. Or when you really start to believe that you know exactly what you are doing.

Like what happend with David Lynch.

Complete disaster.

I guess it really is as James Brown once said...

Ok, if you are going to portrait the guy that supposedly slipped that loser Schubert a few notes, why does his music that he makes, on his own, sound so...

Bad?

Horrible.

Boring.

Not original.

He reminds me of a few stoners with too much time on his hands that has convinced himself of something or other.

Lets move on.

So Marlowe did write Shakespear's plays? Ok.

Why not give the literary genius of the millennium something more interesing or insightful to say?

You could expect at least that.

But thats a tall order.

As is everything else in this movie.

A otherwise wonderful director proves in this film that he too can be completely out of his mind.

And out of his league.

His own league that is.

Now that is something.
