Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Scottie T — 14 Jan 2015
This movie was an arthouse, so if your a mainstream movie goer, you probably wouldnt like this movie that much. the movie was really slow, and I know it intended to be like that, and I knew this was an artsy movie so I wasnt really expecting anything good, look at the tomatoe meter.
I didnt find this movie that bad, I kind of understood the metaphores in the movie when I watched it for a second time, and an analyzed review on youtube by "ChrisStuckmann" he really opened my eyes about this film.
even when I was watching the film I didnt mind it, I think 40 & 36 are really low for this movie, but I guess it is what it is. I enjoyed the performances, the direction, and the shots. the movie looked very euphoric, and colourful, and I think it had a good meaning at the end of the film, I enjoyed it! I dont really reccomend it to anyone that I know personally, except for a few of my friends that might enjoy this, but not many, so I guess if you like gosling and slow paced confusing films that you had to decipher like I did my self and the help of chris stuckmanns video, watch this.
pretty fucked up though, but enjoyable for me.
