Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Jleigh — 24 Jun 2015
A film of unimaginable beauty, depth and elegance, this may be NWR's masterpiece. No shot is anything other than totally considered, every decision has layers of meaning that gift the spectator a dark fairytale if they are willing to work with the text.
The violence is unflinching, the lighting is photographic and the narrative is haunting. Read Peter Bradshaw's review.
