Review of Ong Bak 3 (2010) by Matthew K — 10 Jul 2011
I'm pretty sure in the opening scene, they kill Tony Jaa three times, but then again who's counting. The question that should be asked, however, is 'How many bones does Jaa have in his body?' and 'How much blood does he have in his body?' (because within the opening scene it felt like every bone was broken twice and gallons and gallons of blood kept spitting out of his mouth).
The film is pretty much as follows: (The first hour)Tony Jaa's character gets the shit beat out of him, he is treated and he has flashbacks of past events-horrible memories-things that took place in the first and second film, all while his body heals and he gets back into shape(the second hour) to later kick some ass which of course, he does.
.. and does well. Out of this whole trilogy, the story isn't that good, but the fighting is. The fighting seems to be the only point to watch these films. Bruce Lee may have been the master while he was alive, and Jackie Chan may be the master today while he is still alive, but Tony Jaa comes close to their level of skill and speed, with his REAL and daredevilish stunts.
