Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by Robert H — 19 Sep 2009
Don't go into this one expecting a great story. I'm not sure if this was written as part 1 of a two part story meaning lots of stuff that was introduced in this film (apparent love interest, revenge, etc) will be resolved in Ong Bak 3 but you sure do leave the film feeling a little let down.
BUT if you go into the film wanting nothing more than some awesome fight sequences... this movie pays off!!! You might find it slow in parts (as it tries to tell the story) but when the fighting starts, Jaa really goes to town.
More than just muay thai, Tony seems to be trying to showcase the many ways in which he can fight. There is sword work, numchuck, ropes, several different kungfu styles and even animal battles.
