Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by John C — 26 Oct 2009
A needlessly complicated story makes this not as fun as Ong Bak, but the staging is still undeniably impressive. Even with bad teeth and hygiene, Tony Jaa is still the most jaw-dropping physical presence in martial arts films since Jet Li at his prime.
But now that he's directing, I hope in Ong Bak 3 that he can tread plot at least half as well as he can tread a horde of stampeding elephants.
