Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by Nathan B — 09 Feb 2010
Tony Jaa is one scary kick butt monster and I could watch him Thai box, drunken fight, sword hack, and jump around on elephants all day long. A prequel, not a sequel, Ong Bak 2 explores the origins of Jaaâ??s resurrection warrior and even though I enjoyed the setting I definitely missed the urban acrobatics of the first film.
And I could have shaved thirty minutes from the middle (but not that drunken master routine with The King of Ugly slave trader, that dude was terrifying). An interesting direction for the series, looking forward to Ong Bak X: Space Fu! Not VF.
