Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by Xgary X — 30 Mar 2011
Little Muay Thai genius Tony Jaa takes a slightly unfortunate different direction with this unrelated follow-up to the greatest martial arts film of all time; this time set in medieval Thailand, the fight scenes are given slightly less priority with less spectacular choreography (largely because most of the fights involve weapons as opposed to skull-bashing elbows and knees and physics-defying, yet non-special-effects, acrobatics), while the cinematography and color quality is far more developed with especially beautiful, often breathtaking use of lush jungle landscapes.
