Review of One Week (2008) by Dan L — 05 Feb 2010
I always get uneasy watching films that remind me of my own mortality. This film handles the subject quite well and it also questions the selflessness of love quite well, as his wife comes across as rather self-serving and unpleasant. Although I wasn't sure whether this was just bad acting or intentional.
There was also the perfect opportunity of a good open ending when he gets on his surf board and wades out to sea, then stops and looks to shore. Instead we have to sit through another 2 or 3 lumbering scenes that add nothing to the film.
