Review of One Point O (2004) by Orlok W — 28 Sep 2012
It sucks and it blows. Either The Matrix (1999) was incredibly far ahead of its time or this movie (2004) is behind of it. Now it's not like I just compare every movie with The Matrix, but this one has several scenes obviously inspired by it and it 'borrowes' certain ideas for no good reason.
I hate these movies where everybody talks in riddles all the time while being shot in wide-eye lenses and why is everything sofa king dark? The sets and props are another issue, I don't get that whole in-the-near-future-we-have-amazing-tech-on-really-crappy-looking-computers-with-crappy-UI-and-old-as-shit-monitors-thing, I've seen it before in movies like Dark City and Avalon and I just don't see the point. It's just being weird for the sake of being weird imho.
There's some guy screaming at him all the time to finish the code, but instead of doing his job he just fucks around all day, going shopping, hanging with the neighbours, Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool and all shootin some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys Who were up to no good.. Startin making trouble in my neighborhood.
Why doesn't anybody clean and/or paint the fucking walls?! Appearantly the near future involves people pissing and jizzing on the walls all the goddamn time, that's the only logical explanation for all the grime on the walls, it really compliment the overused green filter.
The plot of the movie is obvious and easily traced in half an hour, but still it takes an incredibly long time to get to the fucking point.
