Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Josh S — 13 Jun 2008
I gotta give them props for trying, I guess, but this movie was a cheese-fest from beginning to end. The worst thing is that it should have been great! Instead the makers tried too hard to be original and fresh with his one, substituting the inherent drama in the true Biblical version (there are major plot points that get barely a passing nod in this version) with sappy and nonsensical fiction (like the necklace Esther owns that throws "Star of David" images when light is shown on it).
This movie shows that good intentions sometimes are simply not enough.
