Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Lauree K — 23 Apr 2009
I could not take this too seriously from the first shot, which shows Hadassah with perfectly-tweezed eyebrows. Moreover, I have a hard time believing all peoples in the ancient world were British. There were a few decent acting scenes, but they were isolated.
But I guess this film was doomed to failure especially because I prefer surprise endings, and, well, there could have been no surprise here, except for the annihilation of the Jews, which is wholly NOT a good ending.
Half a star for shiny things and silky costumes.
