Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Real Account C — 17 May 2010
The movie talks about the biblical story of Esther, a jewish girl who, by fate and the hand of God, became queen of all of persia with one goal which is to save the jews from the wrath of king Xerxes' unwise decision.
According to the Bible, Esther was molded by God's plan to save all the jews by making her queen of the kingdom of baal worshipping persians. Her uncle was then one of the advisors of King Xerxes' court and when King Xerxes proclaimed that he dethrone his queen and all the maidens of Persia are to be made to pass through a matter of choosing who should be the next queen.
Seeing the opportunity to bring haditha, as Esther was then called, Mordecai entered Esther into the harem in hopes that if she did became queen, she might help save the jews from the persian rule.
