Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Robertc. — 11 Nov 2006

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Great on all levels: visually stunning (filmed at a remarkable ancient city in Inda, the set, and the costumes all were fantastic). The story is very compelling.

Best of all, the movie captures the internal conflicts of the two main characters, Ester, who is forced to conceal her true identity ,and Xerces, who wrestles with the desire to avenge his father's death by making war on the Greeks, has to deal with palace intrigues, and knows that Ester is keeping something from him.

This movie is far superior to Big Studio offerings such as Troy. Thoroughly enjoyable.
