Review of One Night in Miami... (2020) by Lisochikotosa — 06 Mar 2021
I generally enjoyed this movie and the idea behind it and I thought Regina King did a very phenomenal job. The idea of these 4 legends in one room discussing issues that were being hotly debated in America at the time and are still being debated today was brilliant.
All four of them offer very unique contributions to the discussion and I think the film paints all four of them in a good light, especially Muhammed Ali and Malcom X. However at times the dialogue and the scenes go on and on without really going anywhere.
And also I felt like there was no climax, or maybe I missed it and it was somewhere in some of the boring scenes. The movie also ends rather abruptly that I even scratched my head trying to figure out the overall message of the film.
It was still a great film though.
