He could have at least gone to the opera for his wife but I guess for irony's sake that had to be the night to sleep with his ex. What timing. I don't blame the wife for being upset because now she knows the truth.
I don't know if I could go back to a man who's true love died. How could she know if he ever really loved her? All in all the movie does a credible job.
