Review of One Million Years B.C. (1966) by Anthony Z — 15 Sep 2012
This is a great Sixties version of the caveman movie with the beautiful Raquel Welch playing the heroine.
Harryhausen also added some great special effects of dinosaurs and other giant creatures. Of course, the paleontology and anthropology are all mixed up scientifically, since humanoids evolved hundreds of millions of years after the dinosaurs ruled the earth, though with Rachel in the film it doesn't seem to matter that much really. This film must have been great fun in the summer at the drive-in theatre, and it somewhat exceeds its role of being a mere pre-historic fantasy adventure.
