Review of One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) by David G — 05 Sep 2010
Now here's the Bee's Knees of Disney animation. The premise is preposterous enough to be classic, and the presentation of 99 puppies on the run is virtually undislikable.
Britain of the early 1960's is a rich subject matter for American audiences, and Cruella Deville goes down as maybe the greatest Disney villain ever.
It's really a perfect storm of variables that leads to the most successful Disney animation ever.
