Review of One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) by Douglas E — 06 Oct 2010

This is one of the movies where everything clicks. Easily one of Disney's most perfect animated features. I can't find a single flaw within it. The new scratchy animation style of the 60s and 70s, which replaced the more detailed and painted look of earlier Disney films, is used better in this film then all the ones that would follow for the next 2-plus decades.

Still as great as everything is I would be remiss if I did not mention Cruella Deville, one of Disney's greatest villians. As a friend said, you have to be pretty freaking evil to want to kill puppies! A movie every child should see!
