Review of One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) by Barry D — 21 Nov 2012
I feel like I need to start every review of a children's film with this: if you're not rating a film for how good it is for children (whether your own/someone else's/or yourself at that age) then you have no business reviewing it.
Kids films that also cater for adults is an added bonus, not a prerequisite.
I love 101 dalmations, my childhood loves 101 dalmations. If I was offered this film as a 20 something year old and told it was for me, sure I'd probably rate lowly, but at the ages 1- 7 this film was the creme de la creme & it'll be preserved that way by hundreds of future generations also finding this slightly less musical animal animation of disney as fun and exciting as I did. Suitable for both genders and the youngest of viewers, 101 dalmations is one of disney's best creations. 4 stars, and probably 5 if they offer a remastered version.
