Review of One for the Money (2012) by Sage S — 06 Jun 2012
I truly love this book series by Janet Evanovich. Watching this movie was just painful. I think the primary problem is that Janet Evanovich has created characters that almost can't be represented adequately on-screen.
The casting was terrible. In my head, I see the character of Stephanie Plum as someone more like Elaine from "Seinfeld" mixed with Helen from "Wings." I think of Yetta from "The Nanny," when I imagine Grandma Mazur.
And Joe Morelli is more like a dark-haired Gerard Butler. Ranger totally missed the mark by being much too sociable and engaging. For me, this series was not meant for a film interpretation.
