Review of One for the Money (2012) by Fran M — 08 Aug 2012
If I had not read the book (all of the books) and listened to the book on CD (all of the books), I would likely rate this movie higher. I have never seen a book so totally destroyed by the movie version.
I thought Harry Potter was bad. Oh heck no. This was horrible. Where was her accent? And her Grandmother is supposed to be short and look way way old. Think Estelle Getty (too bad she's deceased, she would have been PERFECT).
Vinnie should have been Danny Deveto - short, ferret like. Hello??? Did the person doing the casting even bother to read the book??? Obviously the person who wrote the script didn't bother to read the book.
It's completely messed up. Oh, and Stephanie is FLAT CHESTED - like practically no breasts. Remember the original Swedish version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"? The actress who played Lisbeth? Yeah, Stephanie has a chest like that.
This movie just butchered the book and I doubt very seriously I will bother watching it again or any other movies based on the books. This long term very devoted Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum fan is very very very very disappointed.
And glad she rented the movie for $1.20 plus tax from Redbox than spending a fortune seeing in the theater.
