Review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) by Baurushan J — 31 Dec 2012
The story is about Randle MacMurphy played by Jack Nicholson who is a criminal and has just been sent to the insane asylum. He meets a bunch of new friends with some of them played by the then-newcomer Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito, Will Sampson and Christopher Lloyd.
While he starts to help around the place, he meets Nurse Ratched played by Louise Fletcher and they both discover that they are each other's worst enemies. MacMurphy wants to make the asylum a batter place by trying to increase everyone's intelligence with a TV set and basketball games but Ratched however thinks he will not defeat her.
This film is amazingly psychologic and therefore I have never seen a movie like this ever. I'm actually surprised that not a lot of people have seen this movie sadly because Jack Nicholson gives one of the best performances of his career.
This film has some well known actors when they were quite young and it has an amazing story, this movie won five major Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest gets a 10/10.
