Review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) by Spencer S — 27 Dec 2014
Unfocused and somewhat clunky at times, yet One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is not all about the coherency but rather about the raw emotion of it's story and the emotion powers through with unbelievable force; this is only aided by the superb direction, skillful writing, raw cinematography, and the acting with Jack Nicholson giving a performance of magnetic unpredictability as a figure of rebellion and Louise Fletcher giving one of the most cold, evil authority figures in cinema that both actors disappear into their roles which go down as among the greatest ever performed.
