Review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) by Richard D — 02 Oct 2015
A phenomenal adaptation of Ken Kesey's book despite the fact that it loses it's central voice by relegating Chief to the status of a supporting character. Milos Forman has said that years of living under communist bureaucracy gave him an immediate, intimate understanding of who Nurse Ratched is and how the system in this hospital works.
Even among this film's amazing ensemble cast, Louise Fletcher stands out ... in so many scenes, she conveys volumes with a wordless stare.
