Review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) by Chris B — 13 Mar 2017
An absolute masterpiece of a film. This film really deserved all the oscars it got. Jack Nicholson gives such an outstanding performance here and it is one to be remembered. All the characters are excellent and none of them ever feel like cardboard cutouts at all.
Louise Fletcher gives a great performance as well and her character plays a very different type of villian than all the ones we see today in movies. The story is also really engaging and it is hard to not get invested in it.
Milos Forman directs the movie very well and there is never a dull moment in the entire film. They balance comedy and drama really well here and it makes for a good comedy and a emotionally satisfying experience.
If your a true movie fan, you have to at least like the film. One of the best movies of the 70's and one of the greatest films ever made.
