Review of One Fine Day (1996) by Dakotah S — 27 Nov 2010
May as well call it "One Brown Day" because the entire color tone of this movie is BROWN!
One Fine Day is a breezy, romantic, romp filled with good chemistry and performances by George Clooney and Michelle Phifer. The whole story of people meeting in one day really worked for this film, it showed the entire route these characters had to take through the day, and it was really entertaining for the most part, good child performances by the two kids, and the character development is really nice. The Whole shots of New York City, I always have a soft spot for movies shit in New York City, because it's just such a guilty visual that I always fall for. The brown tone really works for the film as well, I think it showed how Breezy the film took itself in it's tone.
The movie is very predicable at least, hell, even the info on the movie stated that these are two people who don't get along at first, but during the day start having feelings and falling for each other. It's predictability level is a extreme high, which really doesn't work for that basis.
The chemistry between the characters really works, and gives us a good two hours of just that, and it's worth a watch on TV or DVD.
