Review of One False Move (1992) by Kevin D — 08 Apr 2011
A lot of scenes seemed influential for the crime movie genre (the police pull over (one of my favorite types of scenes, yet still easy to make good) in this one seemed to influence the one in Fargo). The ending made me feel nostalgic of Jackie Brown as well. There were some really good scenes in this movie and at times it was incredibly thrilling, but overall the movie was uninvolving and it seemed distanced from the audience (especially the opening scene).
I do applaud the film for taking an unorthodox approach in making a crime movie. Early efforts by Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton, who later teamed up in A Simple Plan. Also, this film is proof that Thornton has received hair plugs.
