Kubrick was set to direct but Brando's only directing job was this lush,moody and sado masochistic western.Ravishing photography...Brando sporting the tightest pants long before Nice Guy Eddy!...the shoot out in the desert.
..the whipping...the seduction of Malden's daughter...the jail break.
