It was a really cute movie. As a mom, I would like to see some grit and some darker parts of the music business and its inhabitants revealed, but "This Is Us" is absolutely charming. The hysteria that the fans have is mind-boggling, and the way the band reacts to it is novel (directing their screams like a conductor).
Martin Scorsese and Chris Rock have been converted to fans, so watching this movie guarantees you will be infected with fandom. Try not tapping your feet or singing along. And try not to laugh at their pranks and sweetness.
Even a movie is snob is not immune.
