Ondine could have be a perfect film.
I began watching it excited about the fairy tale and ended with a disappointment. While Ondine is deemed a modern, adult fairy tale, the filmmakers seemed to have thought that a fairy tale wasn't enough, that the "fairy tale" had to be explained. If they had just left the fairy tale as it was - a fairy tale - Ondine would have been an absolutely perfect film.
