Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Sumit S — 09 Nov 2012
Though Sergio Leone didn't make anything better than The Good, The Bad & The Ugly in my opinion, he did come close to repeating that feat with Once Upon a Time in the West. Universally crowned as one of the greatest spaghetti westerns of all time, this is one film that re-established the western's significance to the film-maker's arts.
The performances by its ensemble cast is as grand as the movie itself. Sergio Leone's direction is stunning, the plot is intense & the cinematography makes even barren landscape look like a scenic beauty, Morricone's haunting score also is one of his best ever.
A landmark that almost redefined the Western genre, Once Upon a Time in the West is as classic as Sergio Leone's legacy & Ennio Morricone's scores.
