Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Evan T — 25 Jun 2011
I can't believe I waited this long to see what most people agree is the greatest western of all time. My personal bias towards Clint Eastwood will keep me from saying that though. (Unforgiven anybody?) Charles Bronson's role was originally offered to Eastwood but he turned it down.
If he would have accepted, this probably would have become my favorite movie of all time. Most people will find the pacing of this film slow and boring in some places but Sergio Leone is the best director at letting the images in the film speak louder than the words.
I will admit that this is the best Sergio Leone film and one of the most epic films ever made.
