Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Westley M — 14 Jan 2012
Despite being shorter than The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, this film feels about twice as long. It'd a great movie if it was about an hour shorter. Unfortunately, this film just lacks the charm from its predecessors.
It just feels like a typical drawn-out western. What I like about old Spaghetti Westerns is the cheesy low-budget feel and the "Mexicans". This film seems to lack both of those things. It's really the length that bugged me.
So maybe I'll try it again in a few years.
