Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Petros T — 08 Nov 2010
Probably the greatest western ever, this is an epic story of revenge, greed, love and ultimately, death. With truly excellent performances by the three leads (Bronson, Robards and Fonda - just look into his eyes) and a magnificent harmonica-based score, it's an effective film which (apart from the relatively slow 50 first minutes) is totally engaging.
As usual, Leone has conducted excellent fight scenes, especially the jaw-dropping final one between Bronson and Fonda. Totally monumental.
