The story is about Agent Sands, a rogue from the CIA played by Johnny Depp who is working in cahoots with Mexican officials who are General Marquez played by Gerardo Vigil and drug kingpin Barillo played by Willem Dafoe who have both caught a plan to assassinate Mexico's president played by Pedro Armendáriz Jr.

. Sands needs to recruit a gunman to take out Barillo and his assassins before they complete their mission and from barman Belini played by Cheech Marin, Sands learns about El Mariachi played by Antonio Banderas who is quietly in hiding after the the death of Carolina played by Salma Hayek.

Sands lures him back into action through the promise of a final showdown with El's nemesis Marquez, forcing him to retrieve his guitar case that contains a mighty arsenal of weapons and he once again battles the lawless.

This movie is better than Desperado. Much more violent, much more bloody, much more action-packed and much bigger cast. Other cast members include Mickey Rourke, Eva Mendes, Danny Trejo and Ruben Blades.

This movie shows us Johnny Depp with his eyes taken out as blood pours out from his hollow eyeholes. What more do you want?Antonio Banderas once again owns the role as El Mariachi. Now that there's a much bigger cast, this is the adult, western movie I'm talking about.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico gets a 10/10.
