Review of Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019) by Dhruvanish — 19 Aug 2019
Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is a film that on first glance seems like it could be one of the greatest movies of all time. Between a star-studded cast, great reviews from critics, and one of the best directors of all time Once Upon a Time In Hollywood had potential to be an amazing movie.
Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt acted great in their respective roles, but Margot Robbie was dulled down to no more than an emotionless mannequin with little to no dialogue. The film tries to recreate previous action and excitement from older Tarantino films but falls short.
The story is convoluted and drags on for way longer than it should. The only good part is the ending where we finally get some of the signature Tarantino violence but it does not make up for the unnecessary scenes and confusing plot line.
All in all, this movie had so much potential to be great but unfortunately falls apart into mediocrity.
