Review of Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019) by Xv_ — 26 Aug 2019
Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood took me by surprise of how bad it was, I mean I consider myself QT fan, I really like all of his films except that Death Proof one.
Getting things straight, I found this movie really boring, with ultra extensive and useless plots, I really liked Leonardo DiCaprio's and Brad Pitt's characters, quite a lot, but it seems that the movie didn't know what to do with them, instead we have this long scenes where they're supposed to be developing their characters but nothing happens and everything feels pointless and time-wasting. Sure there are some scenes here and there that are not short of brilliant but, their sum doesn't save the overall movie.
It seems that is like a love letter to that era of film making but it felt to me more snobbish than anything, and also it doesn't add anything to the story. As for the Manson plot which is allegedly the main plot, well, maybe it could turn out better without it.
