Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Sebastian H — 07 Mar 2010
Despite the considerable screenplay sloppiness starting well before the intermission, this is the movie that shows what Leone would've been capable of had he not tragically passed away. A very emotional and beautiful movie spanning a whole generation, underappreciated, overlooked and tragically failed to win the hearts of the movie-goers when it came out back then, slaughtered and butchered by the studio bosses.
Sergio Leone's death is a tragedy for humankind.....
