Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Ross M — 01 Apr 2010
Epic, interesting but too long (and too sloooooow) for most people to stand to sit through in one go.
Something that bothered me through the whole film - yes, all four hours - was the music. Don't get me wrong, Morricone was a fantastic composer but his music sounds too much the same through films. You can recognise what he wrote for Once Upon a Time in America in The Untouchables which ruins the general feeling a little since I'm one of those that belive in the uniqueness of films.
