Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Nicholas H — 01 Nov 2010
Once Upon A Time In America is the last picture ever made by Sergio Leone. A slow burning Epic gangster film starring Robert De Niro and James Woods. Also has Small appearences from Joe Pesci and Burt Young.
This film is a very long but contains everything you would want from your typical gangster flick: Betrayal, Friendship, Love, Authority, Violence and of course powerful acting, a terrific score from legendary composer Ennio Morricone and great direction by Leone.
I would love to see the full uncut version of this as some scenes automatically cut and alot is left unexplained without depth such as Noodles relationship with Eve. Leone's original cut was between 6 and 10 hours I believe.
Recommend to any fans of the gangster genre.
