Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Mike M — 03 Apr 2011
A film about regret, remorse, and reflection. This film should not be compared with The Godfather, or Goodfellas. This film stands on its own. You can feel the chill of regret of Noodles, (Robert De Niro) past as he walks through his memories, some happy, most sad.
Accompanied by Ennio Morricones chilling score, this film gives you a sense of a man reflecting on his life, and confronting his past. I feel this has much more humanism sewed in it than The Godfather, or Goodfellas.
