Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Michael R — 04 Jul 2011
I watched it twice trying to find out what was so "sumptuous" and a "beautiful vision", but I just find it boring. A bunch of rapists and gangsters rape and kill their way to the top blah blah double cross blah blah cliches.
Lots of pointless scenes cover a soap opera story. Leone seems to enjoy raping and penis jokes. har har. I really don't understand american critics' culture or their values. Let's step off the grid a moment, what do most famous actors get famous for? expressing anger, violence, and negativity.
But those don't require much acting skill at all, so it must be that they seek ppl who can make big decorated cakes of evil. So movies like this become seen as classics. R complexers rape ppl, and the hero gets high on opium- "chasing the dragon.
" clap clap clap.
