Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Florent L — 24 May 2012
Sergio Leone's last and most ambitious film is one of the most underrated gangster films of all time. At almost four hours (in the intended cut), one would think the movie would be gratuitous, but that isn't the case remotely.
The film's epic story covers lots of ground and never lets go of the pace. It's also a emotionally raw film, featuring a great Robert DeNiro in one of his most overlooked performances. I'm sorry Godfather, but you may honestly not be as peerless as you think you are.
