Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Max H — 08 Jul 2012
Hands down, this has got to be the best gangster movie of all time! Forget the Godfather, forget The Untouchables. This film has so much emotion towards it, that it was meant for greatness! Now this film was 3 hours and 39 minutes, so it got itself to be slow at times but it was totally worth watching every single second to what was a magnificent ending! Sergio Leone has always worked in the wild west type movies and this is his first gangster movie and last movie ever made! He even turned down the Godfather for this marvelous creation.
Wonderful plot, wonderful character development, wonderful acting. This was truly a masterpiece for Sergio Leone! I personally thank him for making the best gangster movie of all time! May he rest in peace!
