What a perfect, remarkable film. this film goes high up the list of great films such as Citizen Kane, Casablanca, and 2001: a space Odyssey. this film feels like the definitive Gangster film. taking old Cliché's and adding more spice to the recipe.
it's a beautiful melodrama, a great Mystery, and a stunning, true tale on friendship destroyed by greed, as well as being the definitive image on what America became. we are given everything we love about Crime films, and they amplify these themes by adding more violence, more shocking imagery, more Drama with real believable characters, and more intensity with its subject matter.
this is a fantastic film. possibly Cinema at its finest.
